The County of San Diego Recorder's Office is committed to transparency to every citizen and is dedicated to ensuring the public is factually informed.  To foster public trust and confidence, the Recording Notification Service  is available to alert subscribers when a document is recorded into the County of San Diego Official Records.  If subscribed to this service, subscribers will receive notifications through automated e-mails when a document is recorded containing the indexed name and/or Assessor's Parcel Number (APN) registered.  Subscribers can register up to five (5) different names and/or five (5) APNs per registered e-mail address.  There is no charge for this service, and subscribers may unsubscribe any time by clicking here.

The e-mailed alert from the Recording Notification Service will provide a subscriber with a document number for the indexed name and/or APN they registered for and a link in the e-mail to view the document index information.  The document number can also be searched through the Recorder's online Official Records Search.  Our office is unable to provide information regarding the contents of the document subscribers received notifications for: to view the complete document, please visit any of our offices in person during regular business hours.  Another option is to purchase a copy of the document in person, by mail, or online.  For more information, visit our "Obtaining Document Copies" webpage.

PLEASE NOTE: This service only applies to documents recorded after your subscriber registration has been activated.  To search the County of San Diego Official Record index from 1970 to present, please click here.  Not all APNs and names are entered in the Official Records index.  For more information regarding document types and their indexed fields, please click here.

Please be advised that subscriptions monitoring common surnames and/or first names may receive additional notifications that may not apply to the subscriber; however, they are not fraudulent in nature.  If you suspect you are a victim of fraud, contact local law enforcement.
